Ghost Recon Commander: A Facebook Game for the Hardcore
Companion titles that support larger AAA games are becoming more and more common, with Bioware’s Mass Effect 3 being a great recent example. Now it seems Ubisoft want in on the action as they have just announced Ghost Recon Commander, a Facebook game tied to the release of Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
Developer Loot Drop say they want to create a Facebook game with high production values and deep gameplay that gamers expect from consoles. They also say the game will be approachable and fun for both hardcore and social-game players, a tough task indeed.
In Ghost Recon Commander, players will be able to develop their own Ghost and take part in fast-paced tactical combat, utilising stealth, firepower and near-future tech. Ubisoft have stated gamers who pick up Ghost Recon Commander will be able to unlock exclusive items and bonuses in the upcoming titles Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Ghost Recon Online.
Check out the rather tongue-in-cheek trailer for Ghost Recon Commander below.
Do you play many Facebook games, will the promise of unlocks in Ghost Recon Future Soldier encourage you to play this one?
Ghost Recon Commander will launch this spring presumably before Ghost Recon Future Soldier, which releases May 22nd in the US and May 25th in the UK for Xbox 360 and PS3. The PC version will launch June 15th.
