Total War Battles: Shogun for Mobiles Announced
Total War has been a very beneficial, exciting series for SEGA, and has seen continued success on the PC. However, it’s yet to move beyond those boundaries, until now that is.
Today, SEGA and The Creative Assembly have announced that Total War Battles: Shogun will be coming to iOS and Android, utilising a multi-touch interface.
Total War Battles: Shogun will have its own self contained story about a young samurai whose desire for revenge has thrust him into war for control of the Shogunate. The 10 hour plus campaign will take place throughout Japan, and contains a series of real-time battles, challenge missions and shared-screen, head-to-head multiplayer.
Mike Simpson, Creative Director at The Creative Assembly is very excited by this announcement. ‘We’re thrilled to bring Total War’s compelling real-time battles to mobile devices. We’ve designed a fresh new interface, combat mechanics and visuals specifically for mobile platforms through the Unity engine.’
Brand Director Rob Bartholomew had this to add. ‘This isn’t a Total War PC game experience on mobile devices. It’s a distinct, suitable, immersive and above all high-quality title that sits right for the format.’
Total War Battles: Shogun will be released April 19th for iPhone, iPad and Android.
