A Week in GamingIt’s Friday! And that can only mean one thing; it’s time for this week’s edition of A Week in Gaming! So let’s get started with what’s been happening this week on GodisaGeek.

REVIEWS

Where better to kick things off than with a look at what reviews have appeared on GodisaGeek over the past few days. Remember, if you want to read more of our reviews then head on over to the Review section.

Choplifter HD

Rik took to the skies this week to bring us his review of Choplifter HD from inXile Entertainment. He found that whilst the “first few levels feel exciting and engaging” the game “doesn’t really push the genre”, and ultimately the game “feels like it was unfinished”.

You can read all of Rik’s review of Choplifer HD here.

Amy

This week Robin reviewed the latest title from Paul Cuisset, best known for the 1992 platform adventure Flashback. Robin thought that whilst the “main mechanic of the game is a great idea”, the overall execution of the title was something of a let down. A “lack of story and character development” meant that Amy is “somewhat of a problem child”.

Read Robin’s full review of Amy here, and check out a trailer for the game below.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin

Mary returned to school this week in order to review Persona 2: Innocent Sin from developer Atlus. She thought the title was an “interesting prospect”, and although it isn’t “as good as the series’ later installments” the game is still a “thought-provoking, unique, and thoroughly entertaining JRPG”, and one that fans of JRPGs should “seriously consider playing”.

Mobile Monday

Finally this week, Martin brought us his mobile recommendations in the form of Mobile Monday.

This weeks titles included: Breakout, where “if you’re looking for a game to waste 30 minutes with while your travelling to work then Breakout is the game for you”; Ski Jump 2012, an “addictive little sports game that just gets better the more you play it”; Woody Woodpecker, which if you are fan of the wiley bird then “you owe it to yourself to download this game”; and finally Zombie Wonderland 2: Outta Time, which Martin found to be “frustrating after long periods of time”, despite being a good looking game.

You can find Martin’s full review of each title, as well as links to the App Store for each game, in this week’s Mobile Monday.

ARTICLES

Of course it’s not all fun and news here at GodisaGeek, as this week’s collection of articles shows.

Firstly, we have a series of videos previewing the PlayStation Vita, which is the latest handheld console from Sony. Our intrepid (and lucky!) editor Adam is your guide through the hardware, software, and games of the PS Vita. This special First Look is split into four parts, which you can find below.

Part Two
Part Three
Part Four

Alongside our review of the downloadable title Amy, we also have a First Look at the game which shows you the first 15 minutes of the title in action.

This week we opened the hallowed doors to our Hall of Fame, where the GodisaGeek team told you what they thought is the best Resident Evil game. Did your favourite make the grade? Do you agree with the team’s choices? Let us know in the comments below.

THE GODISAGEEK PODCAST NETWORK

What would a week on GodisaGeek be without the joyous sounds of the GodisaGeek Podcast Network? Consisting of three fantastic shows the Podcast Network is a new venture from GodisaGeek, and we hope you all have as much fun listening to them as much as we’ve had making them.

Starting on Monday, we had the second episode of the Godcast, which is now in its fourth season. Adam, Calvin, Martin and Tony sat down to talk about all things gaming in their own unqiue way.

On Wednesday it was the turn of Saint & Greensie, otherwise known as Sean and Colm. Keeping up the high standard set by their pilot episode, Saint & Greensie is a true comedic tour de force.

Finally on Friday we had episode 2 of Ding!, the MMO podcast from GodisaGeek. Calvin, Martin and Rik were once again joined by Trey Douglas to discuss the latest news from the world of the MMO.

And that is it for this week’s edition of A Week in Gaming. I shall be back next week, with yet more of the best that GodisaGeek has to offer.

Don’t forget, if you want to add your thoughts about anything covered in this week’s article then you can leave us a comment below, or you can Tweet us, write on our Facebook Wall, or post a message in our Forums.
