Capcom Announces Street Fighter X Tekken Campaign in Conjunction with CALM Charity
Let’s get ready to rummmmmbllllllleeeee…that’s a PJ & Duncan reference by the way, not Michael Buffer.
Fighting fans all across the globe are hotly anticipating the release of Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken on the 9th March. To celebrate the release of the game, Capcom are inviting Ryu die-hards and Heihachi heads to battle it out in a campaign of three rounds.
Round One: Music! Top VJ producers Addictive TV will launch this in the second week of January. Can you produce the most ‘banging’ and ‘punchy’ tune to land a knockout blow to your opposition!
Round Two: Dance! Fight Club regulars, One Motion, have created videos of the most iconic moves from the game as inspiration for the dance off. Haveyou got the moves to body pop your way out of a Hadouken?
Round Three: Art! 30 exclusive character prints signed by the legendary producers Ono-san (Street Fighter) and Harada-san (Tekken) will be put up for charity auction in late January.
Those who make it through rounds one and two will be invited to the grand final where there will be blood!!!…on screen of course. A limited number of tickets will be available for the grand final that will also be put up for charity auction.
Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is the charity that Capcom have chosen as the official charity of Street Fighter X Tekken. CALM recognise that the biggest ’cause of death in men under 35 in Britain is suicide. CALM’s main aim is to reduce that by offering up a helpline, magazine and online community. Capcom are hoping to raise awareness of the charity through this campaign.
You can talk to CALM via;
Telephone – 0808 802 5858 (London) or 0800 585858 (Outside London).
Text – 07537 404717 (London)…Start your text with; ‘CALM1’
The helpline is open on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday every week from 5pm ’till Midnight and is completely free & confidential. CALM also don’t charge for texts, but your network may do so.
This is for a good cause and I would recommend to get involved if you can. Plus, I bet you can produce a ‘banging’ tune!
Street Fighter X Tekken is due for release on 9th March for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 & PS Vita.
