New Binary Domain Trailer to Cushion the Fact That Sega’s Sci-fi Shooter is Delayed
The year is 2080 and robots are taking over. This may sound all too familiar to a lot of you, but don’t pre-judge Sega’s upcoming third person shooter, Binary Domain, just yet. From the trailer you can see below, some of these robots look to be posing as humans in a futuristic Tokyo. The game’s release date has sadly been delayed, but only by short time. It is now set to hit store shelves on 28th February in the US, 23rd February in Australia and 24th February for us Europeans.
The gameplay encompasses some elements from games we’ve seen before, as you direct a squad of soldiers through voice commands via headset, or by button presses. There is also a dynamic story where your actions will determine the outcome. The Consequence System sounds interesting too. Squad mates will react differently to how you take on certain situations and how you treat each squad mate, which in turn may have the story play out in different ways.
I think this has some potential. The studio that are developing are a new development team (Yakuza Studio) and Toshihiro Nagoshi, the creator of the Yakuza and Super Monkey Ball series, is the head of the project. So, it has pedigree.
