First Official Information on Grand Theft Auto V
Rockstar has released the first pieces of information for Grand Theft Auto V, the trailer for which hit the Internet yesterday.
Confirming the game will take place in the city of Los Santos (Rockstar’s take on Los Angeles) and it’s surrounding hills, countryside and beaches, Rockstar have also stated that Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game they have created.
Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, said that “Grand Theft Auto V is another radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe”.
Alongside the open-world and mission-based gameplay the Grand Theft Auto series is well known for, Rockstar have also confirmed that online multiplayer will be returning. Whether it will be similar to, or completely different, from what was found in Grand Theft Auto IV remains to be seen.
As for story or character hints? All Rockstar have said is that Grand Theft Auto V is focused on the pursuit of the almighty dollar. This of course is far too vague, and so I’m going to camp outside Rockstar North’s offices until they tell me some more concrete details. It’s a foolproof plan I’m sure you’ll all agree.
Of course the confirmation of the Los Santos setting doesn’t necessarily imply this is the only city locale we’ll be visiting in Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar haven’t announced a release date for the title yet, and you can be sure there’ll be plently more surprises regarding what GTA V holds between now and the unknown then.
