I Am Alive makes a Comeback with new Trailer
Ubisoft first announced the game I Am Alive back in 2008. Since then, the game has been stuck in development hell, been shifted from developer Darkworks to Ubisoft Shanghai, and had its focus switched from being a premium full retail release to its current form, where it will be exclusively a downloadable title for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – much to the disappointment of PC gaming fans who have been waiting for the title as well (the PC version has now been cancelled).
But the game is back on track, and to celebrate that fact, Ubisoft have released a new trailer that is fittingly called “Comeback”. The video shows us a lot of new in-game footage, as well as giving us more of an idea of the backstory of the game. We find the main character, in Chicago after a huge Earthquake has detatched the city from mainlland America. You must cope with water shortages, a dangerous environment and other, less-than-friendly survivors, as you try to look after your young daughter and attempt to find your missing Girlfriend.
Combat in the trailer shows us a variety of weapons, including pistols and a make-shift bow and arrow. The bow and arrow will play an important part in the game – in particular in allowing your character to sneak around and take out enemies without alerting others to your presence. Interestingly, at the end of the trailer the Kinect logo appears – but no details for the game regarding Kinect have been announced as of yet. For a downloadable title, the game looks very ambitious and it will be very interesting to see how it finally all shapes up when it becomes available for download – will it have been worth the wait?
