Prep your Hairspray and Leg Warmers – Singstar is going Back To The ’80s
There hasn’t been a new Singstar title form Sony’s London Studios for some time – since the Move enabled Singstar Dance and Singstar Guitar last year in fact. But now Sony Computer Entertainment Europe can proudly announce the development of its latest disc of songs in the Singstar series, as the go Back To The ’80s. The disc is due for release just in tme for Christmas and will include thirty tracks from the decade that taste forgot, including songs from Duran Duran, the Beastie Boys and George Michael.
All of the tracks will be accompanied with the original music videos where possible and will be playable across all exisiting Singstar game modes. Sony have also added a new patch tothe title – the SingStar 5.12 patch – which adds Facebook functionality to the title, so that you can upload photos taken in-game to the popular social media network instantly. You will also be able to sort songs in the Singstore by the date they were added for the first time – making it much easier for gamers to locate the newly added songs they might have missed. Finally the patch also adds an ability to filter songs on the track selection carousel by several factors.

Whilst some of these songs have been previously released on PlayStation 2 Singstar discs, and others are available to purchase individually in the Singstore, many of the tracks listed above are appearing in the game for the first time on this new disc-based release, so this is really one for fans of music from the 1980’s.
SingStar Back To The ’80s is due to be released in Q4 2011 exclusively for PlayStation 3.
