Xbox 360 Release For The Witcher 2 Delayed Until 2012
CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the release of The Witcher 2 has been delayed until Q1 2012. The RPG, which launched on PC back in May, has been delayed to allow CD Projekt to polish the title to “perfection” before it is released on Xbox 360.
The PC version of the game was published by Namco Bandai, and there is an ongoing legal battle between Namco and CD Projekt about CDP’s decision to give THQ the publishing deal for the Xbox 360 version, which could also be a factor in the game’s delayed release.
Speaking of the delay, CD Projekt’s Adam Kicinski said:
“The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers. As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them.”
Let’s hope that this delay is the only delay to affect the release of The Witcher 2, as we are sure there are plenty of you eagerly awaiting the Xbox 360 version.
The PC version is also set to get a big DLC package, and CD Projekt said it will tell all at Gamescom in just a few weeks time.
