New Heroes Of Ruin Screenshots. There Are Walking Sharks. I Repeat, Sharks With Legs!

Forthcoming 3DS rpg actioner Heroes Of Ruin certainly looks interesting and is one we can’t wait to get our hands on – particularly after seeing these new screenshots which show GODDAMN WALKING SHARKS.

These shots are from the Coral Tomb area of the game, which appears to be some kind of perilous deep sea cavern populated by MASSIVE SHARKS THAT CAN STAND UP, WITH OPPOSABLE THUMBS!

Square Enix have provided us with an apt description of just what is going on in these screens, along with a little on what we can expect from the game when it is released.

Originally an ancient graveyard, the tombs were subsequently claimed by the sea. As such the now exposed areas are a mix of coral shoals, wrecked ships, hidden buildings and flotsam and jetsam which has washed in with the invading waves.  The tombs hold rich rewards as well as the odd buried secret for those who venture in, but for those that don’t know the dangers, a nasty fate likely awaits at the hands of the creatures which populate the various levels…

Coral outcrops are a common sight amongst the stalagmites, some may find hidden treasures where the coral has simply grown over the loot. Other rich pickings may be found in urn-like containers and other such vessels scattered about.  Of course you may well find the odd weapon discarded by some warrior from the past as well, should your eyesight be sharp.

For those survivors past and present that wash up at the entrance to the Coral Tombs it is a welcome if unfriendly sanctuary, for others, as indicated by the skeletal remains near the top of the picture it is clearly a final resting place.

HEROES OF RUIN challenges players to carve their own adventure, joining forces with other heroes through seamless drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer or venturing forth alone.
