Atlus Unbox The Catherine: Love Is Over Deluxe Edition

For those of you who are intrigued by the strange Puzzle/RPG crossover title Catherine – from the makers of the Shin Megami Tensei series – you may be happy (or sad, from a financial standpoint) to discover that Atlus are releasing a Deluxe Edition for the game, known as the Catherine: Love Is Over Edition. This special edition is only planned for release in North America at the current time, with no set release date for Catherine in Europe at all at this point – but there is the possibility that gamers might want to import this crazy Deluxe Edition – as it contains so many wacky bonus items!

The game comes in its own “Stray Sheep” Pizza box, but it is what lies within that is really interesting. Firstly, gamers will get a replica pair of Polka-dot boxer shorts – as worn by protagonist Vincent throughout his dream sequences. On top of that, there is a Catherine pillowcase, printed with the likeness of one of the in-game love interests – as much of the game revolves around sleeping and dreams. Next we get a Catherine soundtrack CD and art book – exclusive to pre-order copies of the game (whether it be Deluxe or standard edition). And finally, players will receive an “empty hearts” T-shirt, which is a play on the energy system in the game.

The game hasn’t been given a confirmed European release as of yet, but past Atlus titles have usually come to these shores – albeit quite a long time after the rest of the world. Catherine will get a North American release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 26th. The RRP of the Love Is Over Deluxe Edition will be $79.99.
