Miyamoto Talks Up HD Zelda And Mystical New Internet Powers Of Wii U Controller
Nintendo big cheese Shigsy Miyamoto has been talking to Kotaku about the forthcoming Nintendo Wii U console, including the mouth watering prospect of a new Zelda adventure in glorious high definition, and his pride at the capabilities of the hardware, which is to include an internet browser built into the controller.
“This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it,” he said. “You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure.
“You have a screen available at any time that you can check,” he explained. “This dedicated second screen, and the way people may use it, not just for gaming, but to do things like browse the Internet, is the Wii U’s single, biggest design accomplishment.
“When you look at most TVs in home nowadays it takes awhile for them to turn on. That becomes a barrier for people.”
We are not worried about the Zelda game, as that is more or less nailed-on awesome – but would hope that the browser of which he speaks is a darn sight better than the one they have just added to the 3DS.
