Deus Ex: Human Revolution Websites Hacked

by on May 13, 2011

It would seem it is hacker season right now, as more personal information gets stolen from game orientated sources. This Wednesday, the Eidos’ Deus Ex: Human Revolution websites were hacked, “defaced and plundered”. The culprits are believed to be a hacker group by the name of Anonymous. This is the same group said to be responsible for the recent assault on Playstation Network.

You will be shocked to know that more than 9,000 resumes were stolen, as well as personal information belonging to roughly 80,000 registered users on the public Deus Ex website.

On top of this, recent information  from KrebsOnSecurity suggest that the group has been in discussion on whether to sell the source code they pillaged from this hacking session. There is speculation that this could be code from the game, but is more than likely the web code for the site itself.

All this does beg one question though “Is your personal information safe anywhere in this digital age?”
