CoD: Elite Will “Change The Way That People Think Of Multiplayer” Says Glen Schofield

by on May 31, 2011

Now Call of Duty: Elite is officially out in the open and fans have had the chance to read about the much rumoured premium service, we are able to tell you what Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling and Sledgehammer Games’ Glen Schofield had to say regarding Elite.

The service, which is due to launch with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in November this year, is going to change the way we think about multiplayer, and bring millions of Call of Duty players together in all new ways, according to Schofield.

“Single player is just one aspect of a much larger experience in Modern Warfare 3” Said Bowling. “As you saw earlier, Elite has been designed from the ground up to fully leverage Modern Warfare 3, helping our fans compete, connect and improve in innovative new ways.” he continued.

Schofield added to Bowling’s comments by emphasising the innovation that Elite will bring to Call of Duty. “Later this year when we reveal multiplayer with Elite, our fans will really see what innovation means to Call of Duty.” he said. “The opportunity to bring millions of Call of Duty gamers together in all new ways is something that we believe will change the way people think about mulitplayer.”

Bowling finished up by saying “We have a massively passionate community that has extremely high expectations of us, but those expectations aren’t nearly as high as the pressure we put on ourselves and the expectations we have as developers.”

There is no doubt that the whole of Activision is well behind Call of Duty: Elite as a service, and will be pushing it like crazy once we have the pricing details, which are expected to be revealed at E3 in just a few days.
