Last summer a short film was released across the web that caused a great stir in gaming circles. Featuring Jax, Sonya Blade and several other Mortal Kombat Kombatants, the video appeared to be a trailer for a new film or television series based on the game franchise. Over the last year it became clear that the clip was produced as an audition piece by Director Kevin Tancahroen. who was pitching to Warner Brothers. Well that pitch was successful, as a new web-based series – Mortal Kombat: Legacy is now ready to begin.
The series stars former Star Trek: Voyager actress Jeri Ryan as Sonia Blade, 300’s Darren Shahlavi as Kano and Michael Jai White, the man who played Spawn in the big-screen comic adaptation – as Jax. Produced by Warner Digital, the series has high production values and looks to bring some real-world grit to the table in a series of 12-minute episodes.
Episode one is now available to view and we can bring it to you. right here:

If I'm not playing on a good Adventure Game - still longing for the long-past Golden Age of the genre, when Lucasarts and Sierra ruled supreme - you might find me searching for a local arcade, in the hopes that it still houses titles such as Sunset Riders or WindJammers.
