New Mortal Kombat Footage Released – Raiden

For those of you who are salivating at the thought of the return of a proper Mortal Kombat title after the disappointment of the watered-down DC Vs Mortal Kombat crossover, Warner Brothers Interactive have released another new character trailer for the game. This video focuses on the God of Thunder – Raiden – who is one of the founding original characters of the Mortal Kombat series, making their return for this franchise re-boot. The video shows how he and Shao Kahn became rivals in the first place and how the tournament first came to be.

The video also shows us many of his moves – as re rips apart Baraka, we get a look at both the old, well-known moves, as well as a few new ones. It shows off the new X-Ray move system, where bone-crunching action is taken very literally. Check out the new trailer below:

Mortal Kombat will be released in the UK on April 21st, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is being developed by NetherRealm Studios and directed by the original Mortal Kombat creator, Ed Boon.
