Depeche Mode And Death Cab For Cutie Coming To Rock Band
The death of the Guitar Hero franchise may be bad news for fans of music based gaming, but do not fear – Rock Band is still going strong and continues to release weekly store updates. Harmonix have announced that the new tracks coming to the Rock Band music store on the 8th of March will be from Depeche Mode and Death Cab For Cutie. Formed in the 1980’s, Electronic music masters Depeche Mode will be contributing three classic tracks. On top of that, American Indie Rockers Death Cab For Cutie will be making their debut in the Rock Band universe with a track of their own, also out next week.
The Depeche Mode Track Pack 01 includes the songs; “Never Let Me Down Again” which is taken from their 1987 album – Music For the Masses, “Policy of Truth” off the 1990 album Violator and, from the same album, “Personal Jesus,” which was also recently covered by Marilyn Manson. “I Will Possess Your Heart” is the sole song being added from Death Cab For Cutie next week. The song was nominated for a 2009 GRAMMY Award, and is taken from their sixth album, Narrow Stairs. All of the new tracks will be original master recordings, and “Personal Jesus” will also include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions, available to purchase separately. The Rock Band music library continues to grow and grow, with over 2500 tracks currently available.
These tracks will be available for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 on March 8th, although in Europe they will come to PlayStation 3 on March 9. They will cost £0.99 (160 Microsoft Points / 200 Wii Points) per song, or the three Depeche Mode songs can be bought together for £2.49 (440 Microsoft Points, 550 Wii Points). The Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade for “Personal Jesus” costs an additional £0.59 (80 Microsoft Points/100 Wii Points).
