Splinter Cell HD Trilogy Sneaking Onto PlayStation 3
Following on from the successful re-release of another of their big franchises – Prince of Persia – Ubisoft is putting together a Splinter Cell trilogy, with a High-Definition makeover of its own. The three titles that will be combined onto one Blu-Ray disc are; Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, and they will form the officially-titled Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD.
Sam Fisher will be returning exclusively to PlayStation 3 however – with no Xbox 360 release planned at this time. As part of the package, there will be the expected High-Definition graphics but also the implementation of Stereoscopic 3D. Sneaking through ventilation ducts and shimmying along poles will never have looked this real.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD will be coming to PlayStation 3 and hitting stores in the U.S. on 22nd March, and is currently listed for a European release on April 1st – although that is not confirmed by Ubisoft. The game will also be availble as a digital download over the PlayStation Network. The Prince of Persia HD collection is already out in Europe, but will also hit U.S. shelves on March 22nd.
