Fans of Double Fine Productions and their Adventure Role-Playing game – Costume Quest – rejoice! A new downloadable expansion for the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title is out now on XBLA and will arrive on PSN on December 22. The expansion, entitled ‘Grubbins on Ice‘, transplants the main characters away from the Halloween-town featured in the main title, and the kids find themsleves in the icy, monster-filled land of Repugia, for a new adventure.
Additional costumes will allow players to morph into new heroes, with new abilities and you will encounter new monsters and bosses – there are also 18 new battle stamps and more ‘creepy treat’ cards to collect as you play through, and an exciting new storyline. It is also intended to fix some of the problems players found when playing the first game, including its awkward game saving system.
Costume Quest: Grubbins on Ice is out now on XBLA and costs 400 MS points. It will set you back around $5 when it’s released on PSN on December 22nd.
If I'm not playing on a good Adventure Game - still longing for the long-past Golden Age of the genre, when Lucasarts and Sierra ruled supreme - you might find me searching for a local arcade, in the hopes that it still houses titles such as Sunset Riders or WindJammers.
