Kinect Voice Recognition For Mainland Europe “Delayed”
Live somewhere in mainland Europe? Looking forward to using the Kinect voice recognition feature? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then prepare to be disappointed. Microsoft have today confirmed that the Kinect voice recognition feature will be disabled for mainland Europe until Spring 2011.
It was also confirmed that on launch the Kinect voice recgnition software will only support British English, American English, Japanese and Mexican Spanish. We know what you’re thinking, “That’s no big deal. Even though I live in mainland Europe, I speak fluent English. Problem solved, take that Microsoft”. Well, think again. Even if you fluently speak any of the languages mentioned, you will not be able to use the voice recognition feature due to the region coding of your Xbox 360.
Oh and before we forget, this restriction applies to Canadians too. Don’t worry too much though, it just means you have a little more time to perfect that Kinect voice of yours!
