Extensive 90 Minute Darksiders Demo On The Way

Not long ago we gave you our verdict on Darksiders and we ended up giving it a 9/10 but with all the great titles seemingly falling out of the sky at the beginning of 2010 we can understand if some you haven’t had a chance to play this fantastic title yet. It would seem the folks over at THQ and Vigil Games agree with us, as on the 25th of Febuary you will be able to download a massive chunk of the game for free in the form of a 90 minute demo on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

For those of you who are not aware, Darksiders is centred around War, the first horseman of the Apocalypse who has been framed for prematurely bringing about the end of the world. In an attempt to clear his name he returns to Earth to search for the truth and bring brutal swift justice to those responsible. Sounds like fun, no?!

The 90 minute demo will give you access to the opening dungeon of the game and (as if that wasn’t enough) you will also get to take on one of many awesome bosses. Without ruining things for you, we can safely say this demo will definitely give you a good indication of what the full game has to offer. General Manager of Vigil Games, David Adams had this to say about the release of the demo:

“We are really pumped to be bringing a playable demo for Darksiders to Xbox 360 and PlayStation3. We really wanted to give gamers a true idea of the variety of gameplay that the game offers and so rather than just making a standard 20-minute demo version of the first few levels, we decided to give away this massive level and reveal the true essence of the game.”

The decision to make such a large portion of the game available in the demo shows good faith on the part of THQ and rightly so as Darksiders is a wonderful game. So guys and gals, if you are still uncertain about Darksiders then we highly recommend downloading the demo on February 25th and giving this gem of a game a go.
