Manveer Heir (Lead Designer at Raven) has caused a bit of a storm via Twitter today by saying this:

Here’s the deal folks: if Wolfenstein outsells Madden 10 in August I will personally pay for your copy (keep your receipt) – SPREAD THE WORD

Then after hundreds of questions he also added these details into the mix:

And so everyone knows I’ll be using the NPD numbers to determine if we outsold Madden 10 – but anyone can be reimbursed worldwide.

Bold statement and certainly a nice way to get some extra sales. Can Wolfenstein outsell Madden 10? We don’t think so. Year upon year Madden sells millions of copies when it is released, last year it sold around 2 million copies upon release. Now this isn’t a reflection on the quality of Wolfenstein, it is just common sense. Saying that though it would be rather amazing if by some miracle Wolfenstein did manage to outsell Madden 10 as Raven would have to reimburse everyone around the world who purchased a copy of the game. Crazy or marketing genius?! Let us know what you think.
