Microsoft reveals Games On-Demand line-up
Microsoft have today revealed the 21 games that will open up the new games on-demand service when the dashboard update hits Xbox Live on the 11th of August. Most of the 21 games are about 2 or 3 years old but that doesn’t negate the fact that some of them are still quality titles. Titles such as Burnout Paradise, Asssassin’s Creed, Call of Duty 2 and Mass Effect are just some of the standout games you can expect to be seeing from the games on-demand service when it is available.
As well as announcing the games that will be hitting the service, Microsoft also revealed the pricing system. Titles from the games on-demand service will cost between 1600 and 2400 Microsoft points which equates to anything between £13.60 and £20.40 in real money. The pricing system is not bad but it doesn’t really offer cheaper prices compared to high street and online retailers. For instance why would you want to pay an amount between £13.60 and £20.40 for titles such as Call of Duty 2 or Fight Night Round 3 when you can probably pick a boxed copy for alot cheaper. The price difference is not as big for the newer games such as Burnout Paradise or Mass Effect but the point is there still is a difference. Will people prefer the convienience of downloading these games from the comfort of their own sofa over saving a bit of money? I guess only time will tell.
