It’s one week before Blizzcon and it seems we do not have to wait for all the juicy news! The folks over at mmo champion have leaked a lot of information on World of Warcraft’s third expansion.

This change throws the lore out of the window but that’s the way things are going at the moment with WoW, the game is being completley opened up with changes we could only dream about a few years ago.
New Races
Worgens: Pretty cool looking race, apparently they will shape shift between human and beast form. I hope the human form looks very much different to the current human race so that there is distinction between worgens and humans. I have to admit im gutted these guys are on the alliance and not the horde, will definitely have to make a worgen alt.
Goblins: The goblins have been considered to be introduced as a new race before but the developers said they thought of them as a neutral race and decided they would not side with the horde so whats changed? Probably some story linked with Deathwing which I hope we can experience in the start zone and in the end game.
New races are always nice but it’s minor content in my eyes, new races means a couple new level 1-20 starter zones and a reason to spend more time in the game leveling alts.
No New Continent: Cataclysm will be the first expansion to not include a new continent and will instead use a revamped Azeroth! Part of the revamp will see flying introduced to the “old world” as well as some speculated major changes to zones such as the barrens and capital cities such as orgrimmar and gnomergon.
When the first expansion hit players flocked to outland, with the exception of Karazhan and capital cities players had little reason to journey back to Azeroth where they had spent so much time leveling and raiding. At this moment in time Azeroth is dead with only a few players running around and many people think it has lost its epic feel. On one hand it will be great to see Azeroth flourish again but on the other it is disappointing that we will not see a whole new continent. I would actually even go as far to say that it looks like Blizzard are continuing with their lazy ways of just re-using old content.
I would take all this information with a pinch of salt as Blizzard have not come out and confirmed anything yet, however stay tuned to GodisaGeek.com and we will have all the latest official information from Blizzcon the second it hits.
