Today is a good day for visual novel fans because Clannad has been announced for Spring 2019 release on Switch
After the Steins;Gate announcement for Switch, Clannad has been announced for Switch in Japan.
Clannad is an excellent (and very long) visual novel that originally released on Xbox 360, PSP, PS Vita, and more in Japan before seeing a PS4 release. The PS4 release also included English text as an option in Japan with higher quality visuals and audio than all previous versions of the game. This saw a digital release on PSN in NA and EU recently. The Switch version will support touchscreen and Joy-Con use. It is likely that the Switch version includes English as an option. Hopefully it releases in the West even digital only if needed because more people need to play this and visual novels are best on a portable. Watch the English version opening for PS4 below:
