Hello Games’ Sean Murray has revealed on Twitter than the developer had issues over its name, but now everything is ok.
Murray tweeted: “Yay! We finally settled with Sky (they own the word “Sky”). We can call our game No Man’s Sky. 3 years of secret stupid legal nonsense over”, suggesting Sky don’t let people use the name easily, and also offering a potential suggestion for why the game was delayed? As Murray also points out: “This is the same folks who made Microsoft change Skydrive to Onedrive… so it was pretty serious”.

As friend of the site, GameSpot‘s Danny O’Dwyer pointed out, fair play to them for sticking to their guns over it. Though Sean replied, suggesting they “just couldn’t think of another name”.
No Man’s Sky is out for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 10.
