It has been reported by GamesIndustry.biz that the HTC Vive delay, now set for release next April, is down to a “very big technological breakthrough”.
The breakthrough was announced by HTC CEOÂ Cher Wang at the Vive Underground forum in Beijing on Friday, when he told developers in attendance the reason behind the delay. Other than that, little else was said apart from said breakthrough will be revealed next month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We shouldn’t make our users swap their systems later just so we could meet the December shipping date,” Wang is reported to have said. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
