It is one of the most highly-anticipated shooters of all time – the first game from Bungie following their departure from the Halo series. To build excitement for the title even more – as if it wasn’t high enough already – publishers Activision and Bungie have now announced that gamers who place a pre-order for the game at select retailers get early access to the Destiny Beta.
Due to start in early 2014, the Beta testing phase will give players the chance to try out many of the key features from the finished title, and their feedback will help make the game better. The Beta will be made available across all launch platforms – Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
Bungie President Harold Ryan said of the Beta:
“Destiny is the most ambitious game we have ever made and it’s our chance to transform the way you experience a new Bungie universe… From day one Destiny has been an incredibly bold vision that Activision shares with Bungie. Destiny is a massive universe that is populated by the players and for that reason we need fans to get their hands on the game, fans all around the world. We can’t wait!”
Beta codes will be in limited supply, but are available to all previous and new pre-orders – so make sure you sign up with your local participating retailer as soon as you can. 9-digit access codes will be sent out to gamers closer to the launch of the Beta. It is always fun when fans get to test out a title before it launches, and the process often helps to ween out any major issues or problematic features before the game hits retail. Shooter fans will be chomping at the bit to see what Bungie can do when not working within the confines of the Halo universe.
