Grand Theft Auto V is Fastest-Selling Game in the Series’ History
Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two Interactive has announced that the latest game in the series has broken records by becoming the fastest selling game in the franchise’s history.
In the game’s first 24 hours, Grand Theft Auto V has generated more than $800 million worldwide — with MCV reporting that GTA V has become the fastest selling game ever in the UK, with 1.57 million copies sold on the game’s launch day.
Receiving critical acclaim across the board, Grand Theft Auto V got a coveted 10/10 from us here at GodisaGeek, with Mick calling it, “the perfect swan-song for this console generation.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops II reached $1 billion in sales within 15 days, but it looks like Grand Theft Auto V could beat out the Activision juggernaut if momentum stays with Michael, Franklin and Trevor.
