Although the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection was released in Japan last month and in the US recently, we still had no details about a European launch for the title. But now some information has emerged, that confirms the box set will be coming to the UK and Europe.
CVG have reported on information from Konami that there are plans to bring the Legacy Collection to Europe in September. The exact date and price are yet to be nailed down, but at least we now know that it will be made available.
The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection includes:
- Metal Gear Solid
- Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (featuring the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
- Metal Gear Solid: Special Mission
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition
- The collection also features both Metal Gear Solid digital graphic novels illustrated by Ashley Wood, the second of which has never been released in Europe, according to Konami.
The collection will only be coming to PlayStation 3, as unfortunately there is too much data to fit on non Blu-Ray discs – the same reason why Metal Gear Solid 4 never came to Xbox 360 in the first place. But Metal Gear Solid fans who own a PS3 will be more than satisfied with the entire collection, in one box, for the first time.

If I'm not playing on a good Adventure Game - still longing for the long-past Golden Age of the genre, when Lucasarts and Sierra ruled supreme - you might find me searching for a local arcade, in the hopes that it still houses titles such as Sunset Riders or WindJammers.
