In some good news for Vita owners, sources close to Digital Foundry have told them that every PlayStation 4 game that doesn’t use the new PS4 camera will allow for remote play on Sony’s handheld.
With the PSP and even the Vita, remote play has always been bogged down by shoddy output, or lack of support. At the PlayStation 4 reveal event in February, we did see Mark Cerny bust out a PlayStation Vita whilst showing off Knack (video below, courtesy of IGN), but there was no word on whether or not the option would be available on all titles coming to Sony next-gen hardware – even though the rumour has been gathering steam, as of late.
For those that are unaware, remote play basically compresses the PS4 output to the native resolution of the Vita’s OLED screen. It would allow owners of both systems to avail of a Wii U-like Game Pad experience.
I’m sure we’ll hear more on this, come E3.
