What do gamers (stereotypically) enjoy more than games? FOOD! So, thank your lucky stars that Microsoft and Pizza Hut have teamed up to launch a brand new Pizza Hut app on Xbox 360.
The app will allow users to order anything from the chain’s menu and you can even do it using Kinect. It just keeps getting better, doesn’t it? Customise pizzas by waving your arms around, or shouting things at the motion tracking peripheral atop your entertainment unit. You can even link Xbox.com and PizzaHut.com accounts to the app and save your orders, making any future purchases much easier. Also, thanks to Facebook integration, you can let your friends know that you’re eating pizza. Technology!
Polygon spoke with Xbox’s Larry Hyrb and asked if this app was a sign of things to come in the future for the console. The Major was cagey in his response:
“We evaluate options all the time and we want to do what is right for all Xbox Live users,” he said. “It’s important to us that we provide the right experience, and we’ll go where the audience is interested in taking us. If they have an appetite for it, we’ll investigate it.”
Would it not be easier to just ring up your local chain, no? Shouting Netflix commands at my Xbox 360 is bad enough, so I can’t imagine using Kinect with this app would save much time, either.
But, either way…we play games AND we like pizza, amirite guys!!!!
