Our favourite blue-hued spiny mammal is poised for a long overdue comeback next week with Sonic Generations, and SEGA have released a launch trailer to celebrate!
The question is, will SEGA finally break the Sonic Cycle? Or will us long-time Sonic fans continue to tap our feet in impatience while we wait for a title that matches the Mega Drive originals? Personally, I am a big fan of the concept, and it shows that SEGA have been listening to what Sonic fans want. The first two Sonic games remain incredibly playable games, so I’m glad to see a few old stages make their way into the game (Chemical Plant Zone is back, YAY!).
My only concern is the framerate of the 2D sections, which are slightly jerky, other than that the game looks to be a promising return to form for the Blue Blur (one that will wipe all memories of Shadow The Hedgehog, interspecies kissing and Werehogs from our fragile minds).
Take a look at the trailer (plus our previous coverage) and make your own mind up next week!
Sonic Generations will be available on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 on 4th November. A 3DS version will be available on 25th November.
