First Look – Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Welcome back to another helping of First Look. This time around we have a 10 minute video clip of the new title Space Marine, which comes from the creators of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Games Workshop and is brought to you by Relic Entertainment and THQ.

In the clip you will see the opening title sequence, showing a computer readout that is displaying a planet called the Imperial Forge World which has been overrun by Orc’s, looking to capture precious war machines called Titans. You then see a series of messages asking to send in the Liberation Fleet to repel this invasion, where it is then decided to send in the Ultramarine’s, an army of super soldiers sporting some seriously awesome armour and weaponry. From here, you meet the games main protagonist who goes by the name of Captain Titus, and he happily blazes into battle to stop the Orc’s and their dastardly scheme’s. The next part of the clip shows off the gameplay which has to be said, is similar to Gears of War but without the cover system but it shows off what Captain Titus is capable of.

First impressions are that Space Marine looks quite impressive and fun to play with the potential for an interesting story, but all of this will be explored in our impending review. Can our hero repel the Orc invasion? Or is there something else lurking in the shadows? You will have to wait and see but in the meantime, enjoy the clip!
