Kinect to Tour the UK Giving Personalised Experiences

With the recent release of The Gunstringer and Rise of Nightmares, it’s clear to us that Kinect isn’t going away. If anything, given the review scores we gave to a game like The Gunstringer, Kinect is just improving.

To get even more of the public to try Kinect, Microsoft have announced that they will be touring the UK again this year to give potential new Kinect users a personalised controlled free Kinect experience.

The Your Kinect Experience tour kicks off on September 29th at the Metro Centre in Gateshead and consumers are able to book their personalised experience from today using the Facebook booking tool and interactive tour map which details all UK trial locations at www.facebook.com/kinectforxbox360.

The Your Kinect Experience will be personalised around the visitor’s choice of game with various elements of the trial experience updating automatically depending on the users preferred game. Groups of up to five friends can play one of four games together prior to release (Kinect Disneyland Adventures, Kinect Star Wars, Kinect Sports Season 2 and Dance Central 2) within the Your Kinect Booth

On arrival all visitors will be given the option of using an RFID wristband which will allow the Your Kinect Facebook application to link the visitor’s experience to their Facebook profile allowing personalisation of their experience by easily sharing everything they see via Facebook, from photos and videos to other content by swiping their wristbands at various points in the booth.

Stephen McGill, Director of Xbox and Entertainment comments, “We are delighted to be taking Kinect on tour again this year. Seeing really is believing with a product as magical as Kinect, and we have some truly amazing games launching before and after Christmas. With a product as innovative as Kinect it’s only fair that the tour experience matches that. Not only will consumers receive a personalized experience it will be completely integrated with Facebook using RFID technology to create a unique trial experience.”

During weekends visitors at the Your Kinect Experience booth consumers will also get the chance to get hands on with the latest update to Windows Phone, which features even more integration with the Xbox LIVE service.

Along with chances to win fantastic prizes on the day, including Windows Phone mobile phones and Xbox 360 bundles, Your Kinect Experience visitors will also receive a free picture of themselves in their favourite game – printed and ready to collect as they leave the experience. All consumers who take part in the trial will also be given an exclusive discount offer to buy a Kinect for Xbox 360 bundle in time for Christmas.

The Your Kinect Experience Tour wraps up at the at The Clothes Show Live Birmingham 2011 where Kinect for Xbox 360 will be sponsoring the Clothes show Freestyle Stage next to the main arena at the Birmingham NEC. Aspiring freestyle dancers can win a chance to appear on stage to show off their moves by tweeting their best freestyle video to @KinectSocial for a chance to appear on stage at the NEC.

Kinect Disneyland Adventures will also be appearing across the UK at selected Disney on Ice shows from 7th October giving Disney fans a sneak peak before launch. The game will also appear at the Disney Inspiration Store in Oxford Street, London during October half term
