During the Konami pre-E3 Press Conference, Hideo Kojima took the stage as part of the huge announcement that they are working on a High-Definition Collection of Metal Gear Solid games, as well as producing an HD version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker – both for PlayStation 3 AND Xbox 360. The HD Collection includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – Subsistence. The Subsistence version of Snake Eater included updated versions of NES games Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake as well as a competitive online mode and a fully 3D camera for use in the main game.
Some reports are claiming that Peace Walker will be part of the HD Collection, however the box art images suggest it will be a separate release. It will also make use of the new Transfarring (no spelling error) whereby PSP save data can be used in the PS3 version of the game. The collection will be converted and put together by Bluepoint, who have also worked on the God Of War HD Collection. On top of all of that, Konami also announced that they will put out an HD Zone of Enders collection, also for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be released in 2012, in time for the 25th anniversary of the series.
If I'm not playing on a good Adventure Game - still longing for the long-past Golden Age of the genre, when Lucasarts and Sierra ruled supreme - you might find me searching for a local arcade, in the hopes that it still houses titles such as Sunset Riders or WindJammers.
