Bethesda and Human Head Confirm Development Of Prey 2
Back in 2006 a game came out for the PC and the, then fledgling, Xbox 360 that took us all by surprise, primarily because it had notoriously been in development hell for over a decade. That game was Prey, a first person shooter that saw the player take control of Domasi “Tommy” Tawodi, a Cherokee with the ability to manipulate his spirit form to give himself an advantage against some pretty crazy aliens.
Today Bethesda and Human Head have confirmed the development of a sequel to that 2006 game. At the moment Prey 2 is aiming for a release date some time in 2012.
Prey 2 is being developed by Human Head Studios, the studio that created Prey, the original, award-winning game. Prey 2 is being built on the cutting edge id tech engine from id Software.
“We are thrilled to be working with Bethesda on Prey 2,” said Chris Rhinehart, project lead. Prey 2 will provide gamers the opportunity to explore a new facet of the Prey universe, one that offers fast-paced action in an open, alien world. We’re excited to show gamers the title we have been working on and hope they will be as excited by this title as we are.”
Prey 2 is currently due to be released at some point in 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
