Real Racing HD Update to Add Online Multiplayer
Real Racing HD, Australian developer Firemint’s iPad version of their popular racing game, is to be updated with online multiplayer thanks to the help of Game Center which will be coming to the iPad with the release of iOS 4.2 (due at any moment).
Real Racing HD held the top spot of the App Store’s gaming charts in many countries around the world at the iPad’s launch earlier this year. Boasting impressive graphics and a plethora of game modes it’s not difficult to see why.
The online multiplayer aspect of Real Racing HD will add the much anticipated feature to an already massive list of features which include:
- 6 game modes: Career Mode, Time Trial, Quick Race, local multiplayer, online multiplayer and online Leagues.
- Massive career mode with 76 events. Players can unlock 48 cars in four classes by winning races.
- 12 stunning unique tracks set in city, forest or desert environments.
- Game Center achievements and leaderboards (achievements and leaderboards also available without Game Center).
- Touch or tilt to steer, manual or automatic acceleration and braking.
- iPad exclusive “car-skins” – wrap an image from your photo library around your car
- iPad exclusive “ghost racing”
This update is also due to hit the iPhone/iPod Touch version of the game sometime in the near future. You now what that Apple submission process is like by now. You never know, could be sooner than you think. I was already excited for the iOS 4.2 update. Now I can’t wait! Who’s with me?
